tea maybe
the thunderstorms we had a few days ago broke the ungodly heat and now i can enjoy being pregnant in the summer. im sitting in the sunroom surrounded by four cats. two of the boys (one is orange, the other is dyed hot pink) are curled up on each other. they look like a sherbet yin-yang. the dainty female is curled up off to the side: close enough to be part of the group, but far enough to not touch anyone. the biggest one, a tuxedo cat (who's most likely gay), is draped across my lap like spanish moss. i can feel my daughter kick at the pressure on my stomach and i wonder if it's worth disturbing all these sleepers to make myself another cup of tea.

I am working.
At work, in the library, I was reading a book and my boyfriend came to see me. Instead of leaving, he's been waiting an hour and a half while I read. The blue paint on my shirt matches the blue of the cover.

Lost and Found
The Chicago, Boston and San Francisco installments of the Lost and Found Project are now complete. 150 books were "intentionally left" around each city by a team of 20 friends/Book Hiding Specialists. They left them in places like the freezer at grocery store, shelf at Blockbuster, in the arms of a statue. Quite a few people wrote in to share their (often serendipitous) story of where & when they found the book. Filmmaker Steve Delahoyde documented the hiding of the first batch of Chicago books in this two-minute short film.
